Dirk’s Fund operates totally by the generosity of donors like you. We receive no local, state, or federal funding. We have no paid employees so all of our funds go directly to the care and well- being of the dogs. Our largest expense, by far, is our vetting. If you have, or have had, a dog, you know how expensive vet bills can be. We do get a discount from our vet but, even so, we spent close to $90,000 last year making sure our dogs were healthy. The adoption fee we charge is less than half the cost of completely vetting and caring for a dog.

If you would like to donate other items to the shelter we can always use the following: Milkbones and other treats, dog toys (please no rawhide), Martingale collars, slip leads, paper towels, Dawn dishwashing soap, toilet paper, vinegar, bleach tablets, laundry detergent pods, and office supplies, such as, printer paper, post-it notes, and dry erase markers.
